What Measure Involves

Air-quality monitoring sensors provide real-time or continuous information on particulate pollution and other relevant parameters. PHCFs may use indoor monitors for operational decisions or host outdoor sensor nodes within a wider monitoring network. Depending on objectives and verified performance, systems may measure PM2.5, PM10, selected gases, temperature and humidity and transmit data to a central platform. CO2 is mainly an indicator of ventilation and occupancy.

Supports warnings, preparedness and actions such as filtration, safer ventilation operation, reduced outdoor-air entry or relocation of vulnerable patients.

Environmental Sustainability Low Carbon

Supports targeted ventilation and filtration and can identify pollution sources or ineffective building-management measures. Energy savings are secondary; monitoring should never justify ventilation below health-care requirements.
