As a partner, the Ministry of Health of Mongolia is united in the shared goal of addressing the pressing challenges posed by climate change, air pollution and lead exposure.
As part of their contribution to the Collaborative, they commit to the following activities:
- Evidence: Undertake national assessments and monitor children's environmental health, with due attention to age, gender and geographic disparities to effectively identify and respond to areas of concern.
- Priority actions: Establish national targets and incorporate child-focused interventions into health and environment-related policies, ensuring the active engagement of young people in the process.
- Regulations and standards: Adopt and enforce public health, environmental, climate and labour laws, regulations and standards that promote and sustain healthy environments for children.
- Capacity: Define roles and responsibilities related to children's environmental health across sectors and develop institutional capacities to effectively deliver on these mandates.
- Engagement: Mobilize communities, frontline service providers and local governments to participate in efforts to reduce environmental risks and mitigate their impact on children's health and development.
